Kirkby Stephen New Fair Sale of Breeding sheep – Thursday 15^th May 2008

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their  New Fair sale of 2,011 Swaledale, Mule, Texel cross, Suffolk cross, Rough Fell and cheviot cross ewes, shearlings and hoggs with lambs, and geld hoggs at Kirkby Stephen mart on Thursday. 

Trade was much better than at recent sales with numerous customers at the ringside especially for Texel cross and Swaledale ewes with lambs. 

The show for pens of 10 Mule hoggs with lambs was kindly sponsored by Taylor and Braithwaite, Dyke Nook and Pendragon Vets, Kirkby Stephen.  Judging was carried out by Mr P Elliott, Bank House who made the following awards:

1^st – Messrs Winter Bros., Clickham - £80 to N J Bell

2^nd – Messrs G Sowerby, Terrys Farm - £56 to P Elliott

3^rd – Messrs Winter Bros., Clickham - £65 to J Linsley
